Persona

This course was specifically designed with one person in mind and therefore a full comprehensive interview was conducted. Through the use of discovery questions I was able to gauge the learner’s knowledge as well as identify various learning gaps.

measurable goal

To help as many people as possible to regain and keep their health through a whole foods plant based diet devoid of animals and their by products.

Action

The learner needs to comply with the dietary and lifestyle changes of the program to achieve the desired results.

activity

I have designed several scenario based learning activities that follow a narrative throughout the course. The activities use the Protege effect to help the learner apply the knowledge gained during the course. This ensures a constructivist learning approach where learners are constructing their own knowledge of the concepts. This method enriches the learner experience as storytelling produces a willing suspension of disbelief that allows for the learning experience to stick.

Information

The information was curated from the data recovered during the discovery and research portion of the study. Only what is necessary and needed to help the learner take action.

Informing the learner on the benefits of plant based diets

Informing the learner on grocery shopping tips

Informing the learner on cooking techniques

Testing

04

Measurement

Prior to the course I provided the learner with a brief course expectations survey. This survey served as means to spark the learner’s metacognition but also it provided metrics and feedback to improve the course design.

usabiity

I monitored the learner’s actions during a short unguided usability study where the learner walked me through of the course’s lessons.

Outcome

After a two week follow up the learner was still in compliance with the program.

feedback

Continuous feedback would be great to continue to see course effectiveness.

Conclusion

05

Take aways

The corse was successful after the two weeks of followup. Further research and more testing will be needed in the future to determine the outcome and to see if the learner was able to meet the targeted goals. Overall, this was an insightful process.
